Glen Hansard was amazing! By far the best show I’ve seen all year. Well worth the 5 hour drive and $25 tickets. Also the opener The Lost Boys, I enjoyed very much as well. My wife purchased an album of theirs that is only available at their shows.

Stevie defined my love of blues music and my passion to spend as many waking hours as I could with a guitar in my hands. I never met him and I never saw him play live, but he changed my life forever….

Remembering....

As I sit here, remembering the days of my youth. I can remember when I was 14 and it was April. My parents had just bought a house. We had been living in a trailer for 9 years. Man, I hated that place. Anyhow, one of the weekends around the time of our moving, we visited some family out of state. We listened to Cream and Johnny Winter on the way there. It was an 8 hour drive where my mom mostly slept while Dad and I listened to the Blues.

Upon arrival at my Uncle’s, he asked what kind of music I was into. I told him this Blues stuff was sounding sweet. He then took me to the den and said have a seat. He proceeded to put on a VHS tape ‘Live at the El Macombo’, Stevie Ray Vaughan. My life was changed instantly. As soon as I heard the raw sound of that ‘57 Fender Stratocaster, I knew I wanted every song SRV had made. I sat there and watched that video four or five times that weekend. My Uncle wouldn’t let me take the video home but he did give 2 SRV shirts.

The Blues has stayed close to my heart. When I sit down to play I always start off riffin’ some blues, Jimi, SRV, Albert King and the like. I find Blues to be soothing. I expect this project to have some Blues influence. We’ll just have to see how much…..

After 18 years of playing guitar and singing I finally have my own recording equipment. I have begun work on a new ep. Six songs is the goal. At this point, blues has been a big focus and a little folk. The lyric content is still in flux. More on that later.
This and twitter will be where any more updates will be coming from.

iTunes exclusive five song EP coming August 7… Sadly (though funny to me) the title is pretty much the truth. Four in studio acoustic performances and the track “Go Easy On Me” from the Born and Raised sessions. A little something for all your support and patience.

I’m about to enter the prep/surgery/recovery wormhole next week (edit: surgery at the end of August) , but I’m excited to get back to it next year. Hope you’re all having a great summer.
